American Fusee

The American Fusee company of Erie, Pennsylvania started in business in 1874 and ordered private die stamps at once. They were first issued in April of 1874 and continued until April 1, 1882. 2,270,000 were issued on silk paper and 2,834,403 on pink and watermarked paper. The one above was printed on silk paper.
