The die for the stamp of the Louisiana Match Company of New Orleans was begun by Carpenter, then passed on to the national Bank Note Company. The factory was not in production bor more than a year or two. Stamps were issued fromMarch, 1876 to some time in 1878. 2,560,320 were issued on silk paper.
